Impact of Different Dosage Amounts of HIFULL HB-132 on Transparency of RTV Rubber
Fumed silica is a white fluffy powder, that is a great reinforcement and rheology control agent for RTV silicon rubber. It almost keeps the original transparency of rubber products.
Add HIFULL HB-132 hydrophobic fumed silica into RTV rubber by 5%, 10%, and 15% respectively. Disperse them for 30 minutes with a planetary mixer and prepare them into three RTV rubber samples. Test their light transmittance value by transmittance tester:
- The 5% sample is 83.1
- The 10% sample is 83.2
- The 15% sample is 83.3
The results are very close
It shows that a higher dosage amount of HIFULL HB-132 fumed silica won’t significantly affect the transparency of RTV rubbers.

When fumed silica is used as filler or additives, it helps in thickening, reinforcement, transparency, free-flow, thixotropic performance, dielectric properties, anti-settling, heat insulation, and anti-sagging. For example, for powder products, HIFULL fumed silica is used as an anti-caking agent; for liquid products, HIFULL fumed silica is used as an anti-settling agent or suspending agent.
