Hydrophobic Fumed Silica For Nail Polish | China Project
Project details
Solution
Functions of HIFULL fumed silica in nail polish: Fumed silica eliminates pigment settling, improves flow and leaving properties of nail polish, and keeps color clarity and uniform appearance when applied. It is a vital additive raw material for nail polish.
Nail polish is classified as water-based and solvent-based. Solvent-based products use polyurethane, nitrocellulose, epoxy as the main ingredient. While water-based nail polish uses water-based polyurethane, and water-based polyacrylate in the formula. Nail polish is composed of 70%-80% volatile solvent or water, a small amount of camphor, titanium dioxide, etc. Nail polish needs to add fumed silica for better performance in thickening and thixotropy.
Product Used
The client of Company D manufactures polyurethane solvent-based nail polish. We recommend they use dimethyl dichlorosilane/DDS-treated fumed silica, such as HIFULL HB-151 as the substitute.
